Thursday, 24 April 2008, the Union of Communist Youth of the Czech Republic (KSM) was handed the sentence of the Prague Municipal Court rejecting the appeal made by KSM against the decision of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic on the dissolution Communist youth organization. It 'been declared full legal prohibition of KSM by the Ministry of Interior.

The reason officially declared the prohibition of KSM is his goal that aims to replace the private ownership of means of production with collective ownership of the same. Another reason given to justify the dissolution of KSM is the belief expressed by the Communist Youth of the need to fight for another company that is not based on capitalist principles. The attack against the KSM is in itself an unacceptable form of political manipulation and ideological, which has as its objective the Communists. We can continue initiatives criminalization of the interests of the exploited and oppressed.

This step of the Ministry of Interior has been done in an atmosphere of general disapproval of the majority of the Czechs. The petition in support of the KSM was signed by thousands of citizens of the Czech Republic against the decision of the Ministry of Interior have protested, for example, organizations of former fighters against fascism and members of the partisan resistance movement. The petition of civic associations arose from an initiative of the student activists who denounce the actions taken by the Ministry of Interior against KSM. Support for the KSM was expressed by several political parties Czechs. Thanks to the Members of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM), the measures of the Interior Ministry were discussed at the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

Of the Ministry of the many things have been abroad. Hundreds of youth organizations, student and trade unions have expressed their protest. Thousands of people have directed their outrage at the Ministry of the Interior and the embassies of the Czech Republic abroad. Among them, many members of national parliaments and the European Parliament, academics and former fighters against fascism. There were many initiatives carried out to protest in front of the embassies of the Czech Republic in several countries.

This attack against the KSM was the culmination of a campaign that has anti-by time. This campaign was represented by such petition called "mettiamo outlawed the Communists", the attempt to approve the law to criminalize the ideas of communism, the movement and the Communist thought as such, and dall'equiparazione communism with fascism and fascist crimes. The push to ban the KSCM have grown, along with other attacks against democratic and progressive forces of the Czech Republic Forward trying to make a revision of history intended to attack the communist tradition and experience progressive, democratic and Antifascist. The campaigns are using the anti-state system of public education, and communication tools.

We would like to emphasize that the prohibition of KSM is an attack against the entire communist movement, even against the KSCM, which the state power, not one has yet been able to address directly, making it indirectly by attacking the KSM. Relations between the KSCM, one of the strongest political parties in the Czech Republic, and KSM were consolidated with the presence of the President of the KSCM Vojtech Filip at the 7th Congress of the Union of Communist Youth. He expressed the wish that the ideas of KSM spreading among young people and added that "the members of KSM represent new life for the KSCM.

The KSM called on all democratic forces to oppose the prohibition by the Ministry of the Interior and the trends of anti-and anti-state power. In addition, the KSM assures all its members and friends who, despite the prohibitions and persecution, has no intention to stop his activities, his fight for the interests of the majority of young people - students, young workers, and unemployed youth - and his struggle for socialism.
